So I hate using the term PSA, but I guess, when the shoe fits...

I'd just like to remind everyone that if you ever are in need of medical attention, or advice, or anything related to your health, a clinic is open every day at the hospital. You don't need insurance, or an appointment (although you can make one), and it doesn't need to be an emergency, either.

Also, on a related note, boys and girls: the clinic does offer free contraceptives, and I urge you to use them if you are sexually active! Condoms are your friends. Even if you're on the pill, it doesn't protect you from STDs!

However, we also offer Plan B for free, in case of emergency, or an error in judgment. And I'm always happy to discuss other contraceptives with you, should you want to.

Cadelle figured out what the US has been failing at for...ever. That's awesome. I don't typically need the kind of medical attention that can get gotten at a regular clinic, but that's still really cool.

Can we make appointments to see the nurse anyway? You know, to set up plans now that we're unexpected child-free?

Yes, I'm so glad that this is the way this city works.
I get so, so frustrating, back home, not being able to say things like that. Free healthcare, sex education, all that good stuff, it's lovely

no appointments needed, you can come by whenever you'd like ;)

He wasn't actually a baby... He was a guy here who got screwed over by that wishing well I kept hearing about.

it's awesome, but there's still a lot of people coming from all walks of life that don't know about safe sex. Or, actually, people from places very similar to the one we come from, and still don't know much about it, because of the way the system works...

oh really? well when i saw him he was really a baby, believe me. Man, that must have been a trip for him.

Yeah, the latter bit of that is actually sadder than the former.

Yeah, I know, tell me about it. Little awkward knowing that there was a grown ass man passing out on my chest while I was rocking him, but hey. Yeah. Probably worse for him than for me. Seemed like a nice guy.

Sure. I can't promise to answer it on this medium rather than when I see you later in person, but hit me with your best shot.

Just really briefly, he messaged to apologize, which wasn't necessary but... I don't know, I'll probably follow up a few times, see how he's doing. Until he gets irritated, likely, if I know myself at all.

It's just. Scientific curiosity.

Oh, no I mean...I can. I absolutely can contract them, just like anyone else. It's just that my body heals from it really quickly. I probably couldn't spread one unless I was with more than one person at a time and my body didn't have time to combat it before I switched partners.

I don't blame you, you're a woman of science.

I can't quite decide if this is flattery or just a fact, but, just so you know: flattery will get you anywhere.

It's a little more interesting to him how humans heal, because the process is much, much slower and he can't help wondering if the entire process is different and that's why or if it's the same and he's just faster. There's really no way of knowing, though, he supposes, so Derek doesn't ask. ]
