[ though he could easily write a post to engage with the network at large, doing that is too simple. alec isn't too interested in placing more of his personal information online for anyone to find — privacy is key, and being in the shadows is literally what he does best. ]

[ in other words: alec's bored but doesn't want to be clary levels of social. ]

[ as expected, he regrets giving her that riddle. but it's the only way he'll tell her that they are ~friends~ so she can't start being all clary about things. ]

And then what? I'm stuck with people who think I'm interested in them when I'm not.

[ izzy is far better at this than he is. she is, for one, very likeable, while he is not. she is personable, while he is not. does he care what the colour blue means to someone? not really. but what he sees at the suggestion is simple: if someone else played, he'd have to give a little when he has never opened up those doors to anyone sans the idiots he calls friends and family. ]

isn't this a roundabout way of making friends anyway?

[ fuck, she read him. it's in alec to tell her no, he's not here to make friends. he's doing this out of boredom, and the people here have congregated together to be bored with him. but he had promised himself he'd try for max and izzy. clary isn't going to judge him for wanting to see if anyone had a sense of humour, or knew a riddle or two. ]

i think a lot of people tend to fall back on the flirting side of things.
though i sometimes hang out with people to do art stuff.

though i've made it into a competition to draw the most ridiculous stuff and spring it on kieren when he least expects it.
