I haven't been doing very well at being social since I came here. It's admittedly no one's fault but my own. I've always been the quiet sort, studious and the like. I focused very much on school before ...

Well, I was part of a hacker group that caused a lot of trouble. But even then, it was a different sort of situation to be in.

I guess, I'm going the long way to ask a very simple thing.

Would anyone want to go to coffee or something? I would like to get to know more people better.

Is there something you like particularly aside from computers?

Well, I studied Math.

Truthfully, I am still figuring it out.

So some people like math and computers. That is a start.

And it sounds like you're cautiously adventurous. I mean the whole hacking thing.

I'm not sure I would have described it that way. I just wanted a world where the American Dream was actually possible.

Are they aspects of a career you're working to get into?

Human interest and activism is another interest there. Sometimes doing the right thing ends up to be something courageous.

Technology, I was a college student still.

That is true. I don't think I thought of them that way before and I am a bit hesitant after the way that things have gone after my involvement in things.

I'm a defense attorney from New York City. My partner and I operate out of our home neighborhood in Hell's Kitchen.

[That's harmless and brief, right?]

Ah. Well. All the same. Can I ask the significance?

I'm from New York City too.

I don't suppose there's any real significance. It's easier to identify than Shama Biswas for most people.

Hey, maybe we're neighbors?

Ah, well both are unique. I think there are fewer Trentons or Shamas then there are Matt Murdocks.

Everyone's a neighbor and not a neighbor simultaneously in NYC it felt like. Right before I came here... I was in Arizona, though. I had to leave my family in New York. It was for the best at the time, though.

Matt is quite common but I think Murdock is unique enough. I don't know any other Matt Murdock myself.

Sure enough. Being a part of the city, it's a feeling that stays with you. No matter where you've been it takes you in and you're a part of it.

Well. At least here, as far as I know, there's only one of us.

Arizona certainly didn't hold a candle to it at all.

I've never been to Arizona. In fact, before I left for a place like this... I've never left the city.

What kind of coffee do you like?

Never? Even to other places in the state? I had to leave.

I love dark roasts the most.

Never. My world has always been a little...self contained. I don't know where I'd go if I had to leave.

Good choice. Sometimes I like to indulge in a latte.

The world is a big place so I'm sure there would have been somewhere that felt right.

Those are very good too but often they make them a bit too sweet for me.

That's a perspective I should take. Leaving kind of fills me with a sense of dread. It's complicated.

I can understand. It's hard to imagine being comfortable when you've only known one thing.
