[Have one slightly exasperated Slayer on screen. A certain Bartender ~~*coughBuffycough*~~ may have goofed when ordering.

So here's the deal, folks. I have too much beer and not enough cooler to store it all. Instead of letting good beer go to waste, The Deviant is going to host its first half price beer night. Come one, come all. Good all weekend or until we run out.

[And she hopes they run out quickly because there's seriously no room in the back. None. It's making her a little cranky.]

[ Have one far too cheerful god appear on your screen at the idea of cheap beer. He had Professor Selvig to thank for introducing him and Stark and his revels for reinforcing his love of beer.

Thor raised his hand in a wave, still getting used to these tiny phones and their cameras. ]

I will gladly help consume your excess alcohol. And pay, of course.

[There's the slight rise of an eyebrow at the enthusiastic response. Half price beer wasn't that exciting. Or maybe it was where he was from. Who knew? Who cared. He was wicked hot.]

Yeah? First one is on me then.

[ Beer reminds him of better times on Midguard. It feels like an age since he last had any, or an excuse for some kind of celebration. Not that this is a celebration. His mind is still on his family, but this is a pleasant distraction while he is stuck in this place. ]

You are already trying to correct the error and losing profits. I would not expect you to purchase my drink. Although I do not think your patrons will mind the error.

You seem like a big guy. I'm sure you'll make it up to me.

[She's entirely sure they'll be all too thrilled, she's even sure that they'll make the loss back sooner rather than later.]

[ Thor tilted her head to the side, slightly confused about what his size had to do with anything. The god could be oblivious when he wanted to be. ]

Do you need help with vanquishing a foe?

[ And while he still seemed to be frowning for a moment lost in thought, in a beat he was back to smiling. ]

I am Thor Odinson of Asgard.

[Faith chuckles at that, shaking her head before correcting him.]

No, I can handle my own. Just meant you don't look like a lightweight with your alcohol.

[The name rings actual bells and she stares at him for a second before saying anything.]

Like... Norse God of Thunder? Thought you were supposed to be a redhead.

[ Realisation dawned and he gave a nod of understanding. He was also looking at her curiously. If she could handle her own foes, it was of interest. ]

Ah! Then you are correct in your assumption. I can mostly definitely drink without incident.

[ Thor had to laugh. It was rich and deep and he looked off screen towards where Mjolnir hung from a coat rack. ]

I am that Thor in a manner of speaking. Every legend has a basis in truth. The details and stories tend to warp over time. My father is Odin. My brother is Loki. My mother is - was - Frigga. I wield Mjolnir, but no, I am not a redhead.

That's got to be one hell of a family dinner. Glad to hear the drinking won't be an issue. Don't think I have a bouncer that could stand up to you yet.

[She'd spent some considerable amount of time around Gods, well, one in particular. Illyria was a piece of work. Fred was normally able to retain control but there was always that part of Faith that wondered what would happen, really happen, if she lost that control under the current circumstances. The same rules didn't apply like they once did.

Knowing what even weakened gods were capable of did nothing to curb the automatic response of trying to figure out how to potentially kill the pretty man on the other side of the screen. Not that she'd act on it. City rules being what they were, she figured they'd keep him on the up and up. Just in case. She was still a Slayer though. It was ingrained.]

We get any crazy storms around here, I'll know who to thank.

It's been a long time since there was a family dinner. What is a "bouncer"?

[ That quizzical expression is back as he tries to figure out its meaning. She has certainly thrown him even just after a few replies, but it wasn't bad. And it wasn't like listening to Stark and Banner talk science. He was actually learning.

He held up a hand and gave a shake of his hand. ]

Oh, no. No need to blame me. I have been given a, ah, warning regarding my controlling of any weather. And there really should not be need of it unless we are under attack.

[No telling with Gods. Illyria was ancient. He had a few hundred years under his belt at least. Hell, even Angel had a bicentennial.]

A bouncer keeps customers in line if they start getting a little too handsy without consent. Step in if a fight breaks out, break it up, bounce the trouble makers out. Not the worst job in the world. Occasionally get to get a punch or two in if they're being particularly rowdy.

[Made sense. Good to know. Filed away for future reference.]

Too bad. Me personally? I'm a fan of a good thunderstorm.

[ And his mother was murdered, and his father missing, but that was a lot to get into without beer and much alcohol. ]

[ Thor was maybe feeling just a little sore about them having felt need to warn him, but he would get over it. ]

I think you are the first person I have met who feels that way. I had no idea thunder was so unwelcome on Midguard.

God of Mischief, right? I can see why that might be a thing given the title.

[That she could relate to. On a massive level. Although he seemed to be in a less weird place about his "work friend" than she was.]

[Faith had pretty much assumed the speech she'd gotten had had something to do with her sketchy past. Apparently not.]

I'm not talking hurricane levels but yeah. Something about a storm that just does it for me.

[ He couldn't help but think about that brief moment when he had honestly been concerned that Steve would indeed be able to pick up Mjolnir. ]

He would be a fine choice, but somehow I do not think he would enjoy bouncing. Are you currently searching for a bouncer?

[ Employment was truly lost on Thor, but he understood it was something he needed to seek in order to survive in the city. ]

Is it always sunny here? I heard that there was an earthquake.

[If being the God of Mischief was only a small part of the problem, then maybe his family dynamics were even more jacked up than hers were. And that was saying something.]

Looking to hire three, actually. I don't mind pulling double duty every now and then but sometimes a girl just has other things to do.

[It was strange. She had responsibilities that weren't to herself or Slaying. There was a club to run and she was actually pretty damn proud of it. True, it wasn't hers, but she was the one that kept it running. Minus the occasional hiccups.]

Not always. Weather happens occasionally. As do earthquakes, which are a lot less fun than your run of the mill thunderstorm. But yeah. Definitely a thing that happened.

[ Thor rubbed at his beard, and looked thoughtful for a moment. Could getting a job really be this easy? Should he check with Steve first? He trusted the Captain to guide him correctly. But at the same time, Thor was over a thousand years old. He could handle this himself. ]

And you would say experience in battle, fighting and... size are all positives when it comes to bouncing?

[Faith smirks at that last bit.]

Well, size isn't everything. But yeah. Generally those things are a plus.

[And if he was interested in the job, who was she to turn down a god? A gorgeous god at that.]

[ Thor might not have caught on at first, but then he understood the implied reference and fought back a grin. ]

Then I am hired? That was much easier than I anticipated. Are all jobs this easy to get?

[Faith purses her lips.]

Trial basis. You come in for three days and we'll see how you do.

[She laughs, mostly because she'd gotten her job entirely by chance and still didn't feel like she knew what she was doing. Fake it til you make it though.]

Not always. Sometimes you just get lucky.

Dancing means sweating. Sweating means thirstier customers. Yes please.

[ because video would mean continuing to see faith's face, and she wasn't entirely ready for that yet. plus buffy and ordinary jobs have rarely mixed well. buffy and school barely mixed. ]

Okay, but like, did I mention I was sorry? And there's coffee and pastries and you know I'll work that whole night without a break.

I was just a tiny bit distracted. Totally my bad. A thousand times sorry.

[Fair. Faith wasn't about to blow any gaskets over the incident but at least with texting she could weigh any answers before they got sent. That never hurt. Their relationship had improved since Buffy's arrival but that didn't always mean there weren't moments when things were still weird.]

You did. Like ten times. Although the pastries were a nice touch. Tell me he was at least hot. And not stuck in sex limbo.

[ And the weirdness is why Buffy was giving them both this chance to consider any words. At least here it wasn't as if it was just automatically result in a fight that spanned the distance of the entire city. ]

To be fair, who isn't hot in this place? But no, no sex limbo. I think. I didn't really ask straight out. It seems like a weird opening line and less likely to get me laid.

[And citywide fights were a thing best avoided. For real.]

That actually sounds kind of disgusting. But if people are paying for it then it works for me. Figure if we hustle, our storage problem should be a thing of Lessons Learned sooner rather than later. You've got a point there. It's like an island of eye candy. Probably for the best that you didn't lead with that one. After careful consideration I don't think that would be the way to open the conversation.

Trust me, I didn't get what they were asking for and had to look it up. Turns out it's super popular with the really modern ladies. It's a money-maker for you. Hey, I'm all for that. Trust me.

It's actual torture. Like, vampires and demons and whatever - totally got a handle on. Island full of hotties and I am out of my depth. Plus it's just mean how many look good in leather. Or have the cowboy thing going on. And the goddamn smiles! Like, seriously. "Hi, I'm Buffy, and you're really hot but can I just check you can actually have sex and you don't have some kinda curse that stops you?"

Drink, yes. Literal, no. You might have a lot to catch up on as far as the Buffy Faith history you haven't lived yet but that is not a chapter in our book. Same as I did in the real world. Joy and gusto.
