[ There’s no warning for the sudden change in the weather as the thunderclouds roll in and there’s a deep, low rumble that begins to resonate through the city. It seems to build and build until the clouds can’t hold it back any longer and a massive bolt of blue lightning crackles and spits as it seems to choose one particular spot on the outskirts of the city to take out its wrath upon. A boom of thunder follows not long after, one that shakes windows and glass, but never shatters them.
It’s as if the city is gearing up for a thunderstorm that could last hours. Days.
But then it’s over and the sky returns to its normal state. There’s no sign of the dark, foreboding clouds. No hint of what had just happened other than the scent of burning grass, and a tree that had seen better days until the bolt of lightning had taken one of its branches.
For any that dared to venture out and explore, there would be a visible patch of singed grass that formed a circle. The earth would have been disturbed as if something had landed there. Which it had, but theman king was long gone, having stalked into the city with the intention of pushing down the anger that would have resulted in more than just grass and a tree being laid waste to.
It’s a very different Thor that eventually appears on a video feed. He’s back in his apartment to check on something, to see if a certain object was still in the city even though it had been destroyed elsewhere. But it wasn’t. Of course it wasn’t. He had taken Mjolnir with him. And now Mjolnir was gone.
Thor’s hair is short, his face not the usual, friendly experience it has always been known to be. Not for the moment. Maybe it has something to do with the eye-patch he now sports, the Asgardian designed accessory testament to the fact that his return home has been, well, eventful. ]
Has anyone else had the experience of discovering that their wish was not exactly granted as expected? That there is apparently room for interpretation by our keepers?
[ ooc: thor’s return does impact the whole city so have your characters respond or acknowledge as necessary. he will of course be taking a hit and creating an energy deficit. if you want me to be as vague as possible in comments to avoid serious spoilers let me know.
kindofabigdeal or pm if there’s anything you want to discuss. thor’s return is 21/1 which is today for me :p. ]

She rolls her eyes, long and hard, at his admonishment.]
Don't worry about me, your majesty, I read the pamphlets, too. I'm on vacation, so don't threaten me with authority, unless you're offering to help me work off the tension. [Her smile is sharp, even as the camera shakes and blurs for a moment as she clearly kicks back into a chair. Her king he may be, but not here, as he has just reminded her with his mention of authority. She has no intention of breaking the laws here, there's no reason to. Besides, the monthly stipend should be more than enough to keep her in the black, for now.]

King or not, if she wanted help with any tension he would volunteer. But he also worried for her and Loki and the trouble both of them were capable of. However if both were going to regard this as a holiday then perhaps he shouldn't worry quite so much. ] As you wish, Valkyrie. I will of course let you spend your time as you see fit. Just don't forget me quite so easily while you're having fun. We were only just beginning to know each other.

Everyone has their kinks.
It's going to be a while before Valkyrie comes to terms with the Throne of Asgard being in her life again, in the form of Thor, presently, and she's here to work that out, too. But what she hadn't signed up for was more of her past, however recent, showing up here, and that makes her suspicious.]
How could I forget you when you hardly seem to leave me alone? [She asks teasingly, absolutely no malice, and smirking in spite of herself. He's right, though, they barely know each other, and maybe it won't be so bad to change that, here.]

This city was dangerous in more ways than one, but if the city wanted him to have some fun, well, he'd earned it.
He arched an eyebrow before grinning again, though this one was more than a little rakish. There were some traits he shared with his brother. ] Is that a complaint? Feel free to teach me a lesson about boundaries. I've been known to be a repeat offender.

But right now, she'd rather not think about Asgard, about history, about anything more than the moment, and that rakish smile that seems to be all for her. For some reason his admiration actually means something to her. Damn it.
Her smirk only grows.]
An observation. [That smirk grows slowly to a grin.] I'd be honored to teach you a lesson, but I'll warn you if I have to repeat it, it gets harder.
[Her grin is anything but innocent. She's beginning to realize maybe Thor being here means she'll have less chances to get bored.]
