[ There’s no warning for the sudden change in the weather as the thunderclouds roll in and there’s a deep, low rumble that begins to resonate through the city. It seems to build and build until the clouds can’t hold it back any longer and a massive bolt of blue lightning crackles and spits as it seems to choose one particular spot on the outskirts of the city to take out its wrath upon. A boom of thunder follows not long after, one that shakes windows and glass, but never shatters them.
It’s as if the city is gearing up for a thunderstorm that could last hours. Days.
But then it’s over and the sky returns to its normal state. There’s no sign of the dark, foreboding clouds. No hint of what had just happened other than the scent of burning grass, and a tree that had seen better days until the bolt of lightning had taken one of its branches.
For any that dared to venture out and explore, there would be a visible patch of singed grass that formed a circle. The earth would have been disturbed as if something had landed there. Which it had, but theman king was long gone, having stalked into the city with the intention of pushing down the anger that would have resulted in more than just grass and a tree being laid waste to.
It’s a very different Thor that eventually appears on a video feed. He’s back in his apartment to check on something, to see if a certain object was still in the city even though it had been destroyed elsewhere. But it wasn’t. Of course it wasn’t. He had taken Mjolnir with him. And now Mjolnir was gone.
Thor’s hair is short, his face not the usual, friendly experience it has always been known to be. Not for the moment. Maybe it has something to do with the eye-patch he now sports, the Asgardian designed accessory testament to the fact that his return home has been, well, eventful. ]
Has anyone else had the experience of discovering that their wish was not exactly granted as expected? That there is apparently room for interpretation by our keepers?
[ ooc: thor’s return does impact the whole city so have your characters respond or acknowledge as necessary. he will of course be taking a hit and creating an energy deficit. if you want me to be as vague as possible in comments to avoid serious spoilers let me know.
kindofabigdeal or pm if there’s anything you want to discuss. thor’s return is 21/1 which is today for me :p. ]

Thor's appearance, Loki takes in stride as if there were no other option, and that little smirk remains in place, though there is a tension in his shoulders at what Thor is saying.]
I thought I was meant to be the overdramatic one, brother.
[Surpriiiiise.]
no subject
He knew how the city worked now. Knew that there could be a Loki from any point in his life. He pointed at his own face. ]
Is my current appearance familiar to you? Have we done Sakaar?
[ And then he smirks slightly. ]
Concerned I'll steal your act, brother? Pretty sure you still know how to leave an impression.
no subject
[Just because Loki had done Sakaar doesn't mean it needs to be referred to like that.]
Yes, I was there when you lost the eye, and I did leave an impression here. It's a shame you missed it. I didn't miss yours. Are you by chance upset about something? I just have this feeling you might be, can't imagine why.
[Flippant as he sounds, he looks serious. What's wrong, Thor?]
no subject
[ Thor's face went back to looking like another rumble of thunder could sound at any second, but then he broke out into a grin. He was just teasing Loki. How could he not? ]
I will be more careful of my word choice in future, brother. Happy?
[ He reached up to scratch at his beard, the camera and his picture shifting as he clearly moved to slump down on a chair. ]
I was here before. Did you know that? I left because I thought--I wanted to know about my wish. To see for myself... you already know the rest. I suppose I now wish I could hit something. It would be easier to hit something.
no subject
[Annoyingly, Loki actually falls for Thor's thunderous (hah) expression for a scant moment. But then, he's seen his brother raging at him more than once in recent years. He glares in irritation and sits back down himself.]
This would be a conversation better conducted in person, but if your urge is to hit something, I'm going to refrain now from asking where you are. Suffer alone. [...three, two, one] Where are you?
[No, he has not yet taken note of the nameplates on the other doors, why do you ask?]
no subject
Thor huffed out a laugh at his brother's change of mind when it came to knowing where he was. ]
First floor of the Alpha building. East. I promise on my last eye that I will not hit you.
[ He offered up what he considered to be a reassuring smile. ]
I might even be more considerate of whether or not I say that you've done Sakaar if you bring food.
video -> real life
[Loki looks away from the screen toward the east-facing wall of his own rooms, eyes narrowed in suspicion. The screen abruptly goes black.
Twenty seconds later there's a knock at Thor's door and Loki doesn't bother to wait for him to answer, he just raises his voice, sorry other neighbors A. Lightwood and S. Trevor, whomever they might be.]
I have bread and cheese, if you wish for more than that we will need to make arrangements, now stop saying I've done Sakaar.
no subject
How many times are you going to fall for this? in his brothers voice echoed in his mind. He needed to be sure. It was too quick for Loki to have walked here. Wasn't it? ]
How did you do that? It's fine for now, I'm sure there will be somewhere that delivers at this time of night.
[ Thor's only acknowledge of stopping was a wide grin as he took the bread and cheese and pointed towards take-out menus that still lay scattered on his coffee table from before he left. ]

oh, of course. There was truly to be no peace for her in this place.]
Considering I just got here, really, no, can't say that I have, your majesty.
[Though she's much more likely to shrug that off as less than a surprise.]
no subject
[ Thor's face finally lights up as he sees his - friend? Fellow warrior? Subject? Founding member of the Revengers? He's still not entirely sure what she is to him other than the last of a warrior race he had so admired. ]
You're here as well? Does this mean Banner is? All the Revengers in Cadelle! This is a nice surprise. I thought I may have left you all back on the ship.
no subject
If he is I haven't seen him. However I'm sure you've realized another mutual... [she searches for a moment for a term that's just insulting enough without potentially offending Thor... and gives up.] ...well, Loki's here. [She looks thrilled. Just thrilled.]
So, you were here before, left, came back and started a forest fire? Have I missed anything else?
no subject
Thor may have just destroyed some property, but the idea of Hulk being here in this place was... trouble. ]
Yes, my brother has made himself known to me. [ He arched an eyebrow. ] Do I need to be concerned about you two?
[ He asks that as if he's not fully aware that he's going to be trapped on a ship with them both whenever they all return. ]
I've tried all the bars, the food. You really need to have waffles. I did have a job - I assume I still have a job. Ah, sometimes odd things happen in this city.
no subject
As far as trouble with his brother, well. Probably not. Maybe.]
I wouldn't say need... [Her bright grin and shrug are probably not comforting in the least.]
Waffles. [Okay, she might actually be near laughter now.] Bars are more my speed. [Strange things happening here sounds reasonable, considering it's yet another collection of the strange, itself.]
You have a job. [Yeah, that's. Going to take her a minute.]
no subject
He rolled his eyes at that grin. He knew what the same expression meant on his brother's face and it was definitely not comforting. ]
I will prepare myself for when the time comes.
[ Thor drew his eyebrows together. ] Do you not eat at all? Even between drinks?
[ Thor shrugged. He assumed he would still need a job. The city wasn't going to pay him just for being a king. ] Everyone needs money to drink, my friend.
no subject
Wow, careful with comparing her face to Loki's, what even.]
You do that.
[Her expression shutters at his question of her eating habits, though it's more, well, habit than actual offense.]
You're not drinking right if you still need to eat. And if they think I'm getting a job they have another thing coming. [Oh, hell no. Not until she runs out of money for booze, herself, then maybe, but that hasn't happened yet. It's only been a few days, though.]
no subject
At least he hasn't said to her face. ]
You might find that this place is not like Sakaar. There will be no fighters for you to capture and get paid for doing do. [ Although he wouldn't be surprised if she did manage to make a living out of hustling the citizens. He just wasn't sure if that was going to create a neverending energy deficit for her. ] You might have finally met your match authority wise, Valkyrie.

Are you okay?
no subject
That's a much complicated question than it should be, but yes, I am okay.
no subject
[The worried face will fade eventually but there's a reason Laurel is the Mom Friend.]
How flexible do these wishes go, exactly?
no subject
My father was fine, but not on the throne of Asgard. He also... died. He was ready, so I suppose that still counts as his being safe? I am king of Asgard now.
no subject
Wow. That must have been really hard, I'm sorry.
[She doesn't know what she would have done if her father had died.]
no subject
Yes, it was. And thank you, but it was not your fault. There is nothing to apologise for.
[ Thor hadn't taken it well, but he was trying. ]
