[it's a message that he'd planned to send to a select few. but between his own shivering and the pair of dogs he's trying to keep warm, mistakes were made. thus, this network post.]
So, uh... I know we all-- We're in the same boat here. But if one of you could...
[he stops a moment to grit his teeth and try to hold back a shudder. a moment more to try and huddle down further with his only sources of heat right now.]
I know I shouldn't have gone out. But they needed a walk, and I didn't think--
[okay, going on a tangent here really isn't helping. let's try that again.]
Look, I haven't eaten since this morning, it's freezing outside, and Mick, please tell me you're listening? Cause I could really use some heat right now. [and if anyone out there had a way to set fire to snow, it'd be mick, science be damned.]
Or if anyone's around... [okay, where the hell are they?] I'm, uh-- Near Len's old place. [and if any of you judge him for that, he will hit you. or at least just grumble a lot.] I could really use a hand.

Hey, hi. Name's Claire, I'm a nurse. Is there a way for you to get inside Len's old place?
[ Look, she had a couple talks with Leonard, when he was still here, but she has no idea about Barry's past with him. Or lack thereof. Anyway not her problem right now - her concern is to keep Barry's body temperature up. ]
Even if you have to break a window or something - you can cover it up once you're indoors. You're way too exposed if you're outside. How far out from the starter neighborhood are you?
[ It's not like she knows where Leonard used to live. ]

I don't think I can move right now.
[because a cold speedster is a slow speedster, and there's no way he's capable of standing up right now, yet alone phasing through the door.]
...s'not far from gamma. [there's a whining sound, followed by some hushing. okay, for their sakes, he knows he needs to find a way to get moving again.] Need to warm CB up.

Okay, okay, I'm -
[ She's pretty sure he didn't mean to send this around to everyone on the network, but this is what he's got: a nurse in full nurse mode. She's already putting on an extra pair of sweats on top of leggings on tops of tights, and a hoodie above the multiple layers she's already wearing. ]
I'm going to take you to the hospital, okay? I can look after you there. And CB. [ Whoever that is. ]
I'm not very far, I live in Beta. Can you try to move? Keep your legs and arms moving, as well as your toes and fingers. It'll hurt, but it's important.
no subject
No. You need to-- You've got to stay inside. It's not safe out here. [which is kind of the whole problem in the first place.]
Find Mick. Or Cisco. They'll know what to do.
[or caitlin. but he's not about to ask her to send killer frost out to play hero for him.]

[ And, well, he doesn't. But that doesn't change the fact that it is just not in her nature to do that. He might not trust her or trust that she knows what she's doing, but she's been in worse situations. ]
I also know what I'm doing. I know I'm a stranger to you, but believe me, I've done this before.
[ Her tone is hard-edged, too used to being belittled and looked down on in the past by doctors and men who didn't believe in her skills. But - her tone softens when she speaks next, rushing down the stairs of her building to the car park. Just as much as he doesn't know her, she doesn't know him, and doesn't want to assume he is trying to do anything but protect her.
She pulls her scarf over her mouth for a moment as she unlocks her car, the wind biting. ]
I'll call Mick on my way.
no subject
[because he can hear the wind swirling around both outside and on the other end of the phone. with the blizzard still at its peak, he doesn't want someone out there risking their life for him. especially not when he has a friend or two who're capable of standing up to these conditions.]
Mick can-- [and then there's a beep on his end. cisco's calling too!]
Cisco can come get me. He's close. [well, not exactly. but he can at least open up a breach and avoid all the snow in the process.] I'll-- He can call you and bring me there instead.

[ One of the things, with hypothermia and extreme weather, is that the moment you start feeling like you're going to fall asleep, you're in critical condition. Barry, wherever and however he is, needs to be, and stay, awake. And what better way to do that than by talking to someone?
She doesn't really plan on turning around and leaving him be anyway, but if there is someone closer, someone that can get Barry to safety faster than she can, well - she'll take it. He still needs medical attention anyway. ]
I live in the Beta building. First floor. How quickly can he get you?
no subject
[assuming he can find him. cisco's powers may mean that he won't need to head outside to find him, but that doesn't mean he'll have an easy job in locating him in the first place.
yeah, he really needs to try and focus on getting up again.]
Probably be a couple of minutes. He can get me right to you.

Which, in her position, is incredibly frustrating. But what matters more is getting her apartment ready, and so when she's back in, she sets up blankets close, as well as an irrigation kit and saline - what the hospital doesn't realize she takes home can't hurt it, and she hasn't exactly had a need for much of this before now, so.
At least it might end up being useful.
She keeps the door to her apartment open, which is a good thing when she hears the bang coming from right outside and rushes out, only to see who she expects is Barry, shivering in a heap on the hallway floor. She rushes over, propping him up by her side as she pulls him towards her apartment, feeling him shiver against her.
Her hand wraps around Barry's over her shoulder, just checking his temperature. He's freezing. ]
Barry? I'm going to run you a hot bath, okay? We need to get your core temp up as fast as we can. Can you talk?
no subject
and if he also happens to curl in to claire's side in an attempt at leaching a little heat from her first, well, he'll have to apologize for that later.]
Yeah. [not that he thinks he'll be much of a conversationalist for a while.] Need to sleep soon. [which, okay, he gets how that wouldn't be a good idea for most people. but given his metabolism--] M'not hypothermic. Cold and speed don't mix.

[ If he's trying to burrow closer for heat, she doesn't mind. She's still wearing her many layers, and can take it, even if his forehead is clammy under her jaw. In her head, she's ticking a few different things - his pulse, which is crazy fast, the feel of his skin, his state of consciousness. ]
Speed? How do you mean?
[ Her voice is soft as she herds him to the bathroom, using her free hand to open the tab, full on heat, foot closing the door to keep the upcoming steam in, making the room as much of a sauna as she possibly can. She cuts off the ventilation for the time being, plugging the bathtub when the water is hot enough. She deposits Barry by the side of the bath - it's a good thing that the bathroom is actually pretty tiny, right now. ]
Hey, what if I told you something about me? Back home, I take care of people with powers. It's like, my specialty. You're in good hands, okay?
voice | un: c-dog
There's more important things to focus on.]
Dude, woah, okay. I'm coming to get you but can you be any more specific? Can you make like a flare with your lightening or are we way past that point?
[Probably way past it.] My powers are kind of rusty here but I'm on my way, okay?
no subject
Heeey dude. [no, okay. focus.] So, I can't exactly...move right now? Addie's here though, so she'll be able to find you.
[considering that she's the most active of the two dogs, he knows she's only sitting still right now to keep him warm. once cisco's close enough for her to sniff out, he's pretty certain that she'll go looking for him.]
Y'need to talk to Claire though. She's trying to come out here.
action, if this is okay }
Not that Barry knows any of this, because she's just going to show up in coyote form like no big deal.
Sup.]

and panic. too bad he's in no condition to actually move though.]
H-hey, boy. [sorry malia] It's okay. We're not gonna hurt you.
[it's an attempt at placating the wild animal that could well chew his face off right now. or worse, hurt addie, the far too young german shepard who climbs in to a defensive position once she's close enough.]

right, not even close to enough.]
CB. Come...come back here.
[a command that's ignored as the little poodle-mix instead opts to go give the coyote a friendly sniff. great.]

When there are no immediate windows on the front, she darts around to the side of the building, and not long after she disappears, there's the sound of glass breaking.]
