I probably should have done this earlier, but hi I'm Claire. I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone.

I've met a few people so far, but not a lot. So if you want to say hey, and tell me a little about yourselves. Maybe we can all learn about each other.

[Claire's a bit nervous about all of this, and it is pretty obvious in her voice, but she's trying to be confident.]

I'm from Texas and I used to be a cheerleader. I was going to college before I got here, but I kinda...missed a lot.

[Now she sounds a bit sheepish and disappointed.]

I had a lot going on.

[ She realizes she might not have been clear about that. ]

You don't look very old.

[smoak]

[ A small chuckle. ] Got it. So why'd you end up missing so much of freshmen year?

Well ... thank you. I guess. I mean I'm not that old. Just older.

[evogirl]

I had a lot going on, and I was kind of trying to find myself.

[smoak]

Did you? Find yourself.

[evogirl]

Not really.

[smoak]

Yeah, I get it.

[ At least, she thinks she does. There's no way in hell Felicity could actually imagine the ridiculous things that actually happened to Claire. ]

I thought I found myself in college. It didn't go so well.

[evogirl]

It was more than that, though.

I mean...immediately prior to coming here I jumped off a Ferris wheel on live television.

[smoak]

...I'm sorry you what?

[evogirl]

I heal. From anything. And I was tired of hiding. We're people too.

[smoak]

[ She ... needs a second here. First she meets an alien, then a zombie, and now a girl who threw herself off a ferris wheel because she can heal. This place is starting to become an expect-the-unexpected kind of place. ]

So you ... healed, on live TV. As a way of ... coming out?

[ Maybe if this place had approached her two years later, all of that would be way less alarming. She'd know Barry Allen by then, after all. But this Felicity? She's floored right now. ]

Basically, yes.

[ The whole world knows at home. Why should it be any different here? ]

[smoak]

That's pretty ...

... badass.

[evogirl]

My dad could fly. My mom could control fire. My birth parents, I mean.

[smoak]

[ Putting aside the genetics of a man who could fly and a woman who could control fire having a child who could heal... ]

What happened?

I mean, it sounds like your birth parents didn't raise you.

[evogirl]

They didn't. I was adopted when I was a baby. They thought my mom died in a fire, and well no one knew who my dad was until much later.

[smoak]

I don't really know who my dad is, so I ... get that. I think. [ The admission just sort of comes out. ]

So how'd you figure out that you could heal? Never got sick as a kid?

[evogirl]

It actually didn't manifest until a few years ago.

[smoak]

Oh.

[ She can hear in Felicity's voice that she hadn't been expecting that. ]

[evogirl]

...Are you okay?

[smoak]

Uh, yes. Sorry. I've just never had a conversation like this before.

I mean, I love superpowers, don't get me wrong. I grew up wishing I had them, and reading about them in comic books.

I guess I just never ever ... ever thought I'd be talking to someone who had them in real life.

[evogirl]

Um...surprise?

[ Most people don't expect this Felicity, it's okay. ]

We can meet up if you want sometime...and I can show you how it works?

[smoak]

[ Claire's just so honest and direct about it that it makes Felicity feel like she's really been missing something her entire life. ]

Yeah.

I mean yes, that's- that would be amazing. ...are you sure?

[evogirl]

Sure, I don't mind at all.

[smoak]

Then yes. Whenever you want really. I'm ... generally free.

Cool, we'll get together sometime.
