Hi, everyone. [Have a small, almost shy wave.]

I'm Wanda. Maximoff. And since I'm new here, I thought I'd introduce myself to the network at large.

[She's walking around doing the job hunt thing, so might as well be productive in two ways at once.]

Uh. So, let's do a cliche three random facts ice breaker? I'll go first, then you. [She clears her throat as softly as she can.]

One: I love Sudoku puzzles.

Two: I could eat my weight in Kiflice, which is a kind of pastry, and the chocolate-hazelnut filling is the best kind.

And finally, three: Cats are my favorite pets, but kangaroos are my favorite animal.

[A pause, then—]

Oh yeah, and, a question to finish this broadcast off ... if anyone knows fun places to work that are hiring? Let me know, as I'm looking for places to work.

[She offers a smile then cuts the feed there.]

Hi, Wanda, my name's Baby. And three random facts? Okay, one - meatloaf is my favorite, but it's never made the way I prefer it. Two, I've known how to drive for ten years. And three, I own over 60 iPods.

[ Looking at the camera with more intent, Baby grins, waving. ]

What are your skills? I think most places around here are hiring.

Nice to meet you. [Totally still counts even if it's not in person.]

That's a lot of music -- well, assuming they're all full iPods. [She gives a half smile.] You must have the best dance parties here.

It probably sounds cheesy, but I like things that allow me to be around people more. [People can be interesting and fun.] No small cubicle in a dark basement for me. And more things that require more attention to details -- baking, dancing, so on.

[ As he moves around, holding his phone, Wanda can see the shelves of vinyl surrounding him, can probably hear the music coming from the speaker nestled in the corners of the store. Music is his life, just as much as driving is, if not more. ]

They are all full, indeed! I've been collecting them since I was 8 or so. [ Nobody needs to know how he started collecting them. He wishes it was irrelevant. ]

Oh there's a coffee shop, and there's a dance studio, too. There's also a yoga studio, and a number of bars, if that's more your speed. Wait, let me...

[ Looking down, it's obvious that Baby is checking something on his phone, until he's able to send Wanda a couple of links. ]

That's probably the best collection of things I've heard of recently. Oh— [And then when she gets the links he's sent, she gives them a quick glance over, with a more detailed one coming later when she has time to absorb herself in them.]

These do look super helpful, thank you. I may find myself having trouble picking one to work at.

I did host a party actually, after I got here. Did a bit of a beach party thing, just because it was the end of the summer. You might have liked it!

[ He has fond memories of it. Very fond. ]

I know the feeling. I'm currently working in three places myself, and I'm still thinking of opening up, or looking into a driving school as well. There's a lot of opportunity, but I'm sure you'll find the right place! If you need any help, let me know!

Three -- so, wait, when do you sleep exactly? Or have you found the secret to more hours in a day?[Slight teasing.]

[ Chuckling, Baby shrugs, looking down at the phone's camera. ]

It's fine - the other two jobs are only sporadic, and evening things. I'm used to not having much time to sleep, so I feel like I'm not doing enough, you know?

Even I'll admit I hate the feeling of waiting around or not doing something when I feel like I could be.

Right? I want to - the more I do, the more useful I feel, and like I'm getting my wish fulfilled. That's the whole point, isn't it?

[ A beaming Thor appears, still getting used to his phone and being able to angle it correctly. There's a flash of bicep as the phone slips in his grip and then he seems to find something to lean it against. ]

It's nice to see another friendly face, Wanda.

[ He'll warm up to her request. Mostly he still feels as if she might know quite a bit about him already. ]

[she offers him a bright and genuine smile.]

Likewise. It's been a year since I last saw you -- [maybe that'll help him place when she's from, even though he's not been on earth (as far as she knows) in that year] -- how are you holding up here, or in general?

[might as well touch base, etc.]

There were some family issues while I was trying to track the stones.

[ His smile doesn't quite fade like it used to when he was first in the city. Despite his wish, his mind always seemed to wander back to Asgard. To hoping that all this was worth it. ]

I feel as if it's been longer, but a year is plenty. I am doing quite well. Found employment, settled in. [ As much as he was ever going to settle in when tied to one place. ] Adjusting slowly.

[ His smile was a little more rakish. ]

This city can hold many surprises.

It's good to hear you've settled -- or seemed to -- all right. [The last thing any of them need is more drama, probably.]

Surprises? [A curious tone in her voice.]

I am sure you will too, friend. [ As far as he knew they were all drama free. Natasha certainly seemed to be so. He hadn't spoken to Steve for a while. ]

In the short time that I have been here there have been spirits on the loose, and a rain that forces you into telling the truth.

[ The rain had little effect on the god. Telling the truth was his permanent state of being unless there was a genuine need for deception. He would have liked to have seen his brother handle such weather. ]

That does seem different than our usual ... brand of things. [Even in the short time she's been an Avenger, it's not like they've dealt with those kinds of things before.] Y..ikes. Is anyone else here? I mean, anyone else we know. Obviously other people in general are here...

[heh.]

I thought so as well. [ Thor arched an eyebrow slightly before letting out a rich laugh. ] I think I still prefer the enemies I can hit.

[ And not having anything to fight is still getting to him, though now he has found a sparring partner that can mostly keep up. ] The Captain and Natasha are both here.

Those are a bit easier to see at any rate. [She smiles again at his laugh.]

So, a few of us. Not many, but. [A few.] I'll be sure to say hi to them. Did you three arrive at the same time? It seems I'm the fashionably late one here.

Enough to make us not feel quite so alone.

[ Thor gave a shake of his head and pushed back some loose strands of hair. ] No, apparently they were here before me. Enough to have well and truly settled in. I would never accuse you of being late. I am very happy to see you, Wanda.

I'm glad I won't be considered late. [A quick laugh.] Sooo... I'm by here -- [she moves her device, which shows a cafe close to where she is now] -- want to meet up for food?

Yes, and not just because of the food. [ Another fond laugh before his image is moving as he moves and takes his phone with him. ] I shall see you shortly.

[ And she better be prepared for one hell of a bear hug. ]

Sounds like a plan! I'll go ahead and grab us a seat. Probably some menus.

[She will hug back.

She's seated at a table by the window, so she should be easy to spot when he arrives.]

[ Thor tapped on the window lightly as he passed before entering the cafe. She would have been easy to spot regardless.

Even before she's finished getting up he scoops her into a hug, easily lifting her from the ground with his enthusiasm. ]

[She wraps her arms around his frame as much as she can and lets herself be picked up.]

I think you win for best hugger here already, and this is my first hug here. [She means it. It's nice to have a hug from a friend, though. Especially after the Raft. Does he even know about that somehow?, she wonders.]

[ Thor gave her as much of a squeeze as he risked before setting her back down and giving her another warm smile. ]

Believe it or not, it's the first hug I've given here. You are a worth recipient, Wanda. [ He glanced around before taking a seat. He had no idea about the raft or any of the details of what happened past knowing that Tony and Steve no longer saw eye to eye. Steve hadn't gone into detail and nor had Natasha. Both had said they'd wished he'd been a part of it. ]

Are you sure you're alright?

[Sitting back in her seat, she idly and almost unconsciously brushes her fingers over the light burn scar around her neck. From the collar she had on in the Raft.]

I'm glad we can share the honor, then. [A pause before she responds to his question.]

I'm ... alive? I'm in a place that has a lot better sales pitch than home does at the moment, so I don't have much room to complain about my current state, I suppose.

[ He wants to ask. He wants to know what happened. He also feels like perhaps he doesn't have a right given it was his choice to leave them all and chase the stones.

He wasn't there when the team imploded, and he's not so sure that's a good thing. He also knows he can't do anything to fix it right now. ]

Alive is an excellent start. Was it really that bad?

[ His tone softened, his gaze watching her intently. She didn't need to give him details. Either way there was an urge to wrap her in another hug, but a gentler one. ]

I can try to give you the short version, if you like? [If he weren't an Avenger, she'd not be so freely offering to discuss it, but he is -- even if he is on leave right now back home -- so, offer still stands.]

Only if you want to. As curious as I am, you know I will not pry. [ Thor's expression softened. Of course he wanted to know. Of course he wanted to understand what had torn the team apart. ]

Steve and Tony had a political disagreement. The UN wanted to make the Avengers accountable to government oversight and control, an idea which Tony supported, Steve didn't. The Avengers split on the issue and we fought each other, and several of us who were with Steve wound up in a high security prison in the middle of the ocean. Which is how I got the mark on my neck, from a collar I got put on me there. The Avengers who were with Tony went back to the Avengers facility and tried to recover from their own literal and metaphorical bruises from the conflict. [Because it wasn't just Steve's side that had trauma loaded on them, to be fair.]

[ Thor pushed out a slow breath but he did snap off the corner of their table before he realised he'd taken his suppressed anger out on the furniture. It was lucky he hadn't just flipped the table, but Wanda would have gotten hurt.

He held the piece of wood in his hand before looking for somewhere out the way to put it. He offered up an apologetic look at the waitress. He would be sure to leave a large tip as well as offer to pay for the damage after. ]

I leave you alone for a while and this is what happens? Not that I feel I could have stopped it. I might have changed something.

[She only jumps slightly, at least.] Can't leave us for five minutes, apparently. Time-outs were probably in order. [That might be an understatement. Juuust a bit.]

You might have wound up in a cell too no matter which side you fell on, so maybe you're lucky you missed it.

And all this because of some disagreement between the Captain and Stark? [ He wasn't going to pretend to fully understand the talk of government oversight. He understood a little of how the governments in some countries worked but not all of it.

Monarchies were easier for him to follow given they were similar to Asgard. ] I'd say no cell could really hold me, but I know I am wrong. It would be my ego talking. It is much better for you to be here, Wanda. Away from that.

One: I love cheese and craft beer. Sometimes they're amazing together.

Two: Law and Order is a guilty pleasure of mine.

Cheese and beer sounds like an excellent snack. What's Law and Order?

[She ... does not watch a lot of American television dramas. Back home the TV in her room, when it was on, at the Avengers facility was usually either on the news channel or the food network.]

In most cases it's a wonderful snack. Though it does require a little picking and choosing for better flavor combinations.

Oh wow. Okay. So. It's a drama and every episode is one case. And it starts from the detectives and then carries on into court cases and it can be about murders or kidnapping or all kinds of crimes. Of course it's played up and the timeline is smaller but it's so compelling and realistic.

oh wow, that sounds maybe kind of a lot but also interesting. do they have it here? maybe I should get some beer and cheese and watch it.

The writing is really good, the characters all have their flaws and strengths that shine through in their work. There's a lot of grey areas about people and just, law. I hope they have it here. I haven't checked just yet.

Is there something you enjoy on the entertainment end of things?

Does that mean you're the resident psychologist here too? :P

I watch a lot of those baking and cooking shows — the downside of which is that they always make me hungry and I don't always have the stuff to make whatever they're making on the show at the time. But it's so worth it.

So, you can ... do the things he can -- could -- do?

[fortunately, or perhaps unfortunately, pietro's sacrifice isn't something he'd been told about. but while the use of the past tense does give him pause, he doesn't quite put two and two together just yet.]

Kind of? I mean, we never had any trouble keeping up with each other. But he didn't know anything about the Speed Force, so it's not exactly the same.

Speed Force? Is that like, an extra boost to your boost?

[ He never really responds in audio or video since it's harder for some people to understand him that way but he really liked her network message. ]
