001. video; un: hero.

[Cut to an open video feed which shows the living area of an apartment in one of Cadelle's residential buildings. At first there's no-one to be seen, however there is something to be heard- the obnoxiously loud and catchy tune of a particular song. Within a couple of moments young Thom Creed can be seen in a pair of briefs, white socks and a casual t-shirt a la Risky Business.

The average ordinary gay teen superhero has a broom in one hand which is being used in equal parts to sweep the floor of his apartment and also as a microphone. With Thom himself lip syncing along, not a care in the world as he throws his body around the apartment in the closest approximation you might find to dancing for a boy who'd never so much as been in a club before.

Thom was lucky to get the song to play, as inept as he was on a technological level. He was not lucky though if you considered the fact he'd managed to set the video feed to broadcast in the process, showing the entirety of Cadelle his tighty-whities and his impressive entertaining skillset.]

Normally? There's nothing normal about this... [He lets out a little noise like a sob, so dramatic.]

I meant more the dancing. In your underwear.

Well I mean... in the privacy of your own home or whatever? That's fine, right? [He might not be a competent member of society like he once thought.]

I suppose. I just don't know anyone who has ever felt compelled to do so.

You've never just danced around your house? What do you do when you're vacuuming? [Wow Hux learn how to have fun.]

[neutronium]

...I have never danced.

And I have never had to vacuum. We have androids that do that for us, where I come from.

[sanator]

You have androids... and you've never vacuumed? [Thom looked a little shocked.] Wow, I want an android to do my chores for me!

[neutronium]

They can be very annoying and talk back. Sometimes I think they are more trouble than they are worth. [Except MSE-6 droids. He loves those simple repair droids.]

[sanator]

I mean isn't it nice having someone to talk to when all your friends are busy? [Such a beacon of light and innocence.]

[neutronium]

Friends are overrated.

[Hux has no friends.

Hux has one friend.]

[sanator]

...that sounds like you need to make some new friends. [Because Thom didn't feel like they were overrated, and that's because he didn't exactly have any friends and was basing his opinion mostly on ideals.]

[neutronium]

Do I? I feel often they are liabilities and more trouble than they are worth.

[You might be in the wrong place Hux.]

[sanator]

[Thom just takes a long intake of breath, the baited kind that speaks to the fact that he's taking a period of time to actually think about his response.] I think- I- [His words sound stunted.] Like, do you need to talk to someone about this?

[neutronium]

[He quirks an eyebrow.]

What sort of someone.

[What are you implying, Thom?]

[sanator]

Like someone who could help? [He thinks about it for a second.] I mean, I could help... if you wanted help. [Ruth did say that Thom is capable of healing more than just physical wounds, after all.]

[neutronium]

...would you put clothing on to help?

[Hux is not nice. He can and will pick at a weakness when he's feeling defensive.]

[sanator]

Of course I would, don't be ridiculous. [Hux Thom knows what deflection and avoidance are, his father is a master in them both.]

[neutronium]

[He snorts.]

I'm not the ridiculous one here.

[sanator]

Are you sure? Because trying to make me feel embarrassed when I'm offering to help sounds pretty ridiculous, sir.

[neutronium]

[It's a defense mechanism.]

I'm only asking as simple question--a sensible given this display. If you choose to be embarrassed by it, that's not my problem.

[sanator]

[Thom makes a noise quite similar to tutting.] This time I've decided I'm not going to be embarrassed. I'm going to do what the people here want us to do instead, I'm offering to help.

[neutronium]

Well perhaps if you see me in person, you can help. At some later date. [Yep called his bluff.

I'll try to keep that in mind, even though I'll probably just go out of my way to try and find you in person, now. [Thom was a big fan of a good cause, after all.]
