001. video; un: the illusionist

[allucina]

[Eli's face can be seen for the first time being publicly broadcast to the network, he looks both upbeat and happyto be showing himself to the city of Cadelle on video. Behind him you can see the busy backdrop of The Colonel's in the evening visible behind him as he lifts a drink and takes a long pull before clearing his throat, the hand that had been holding the glass now coming up instead to wave.] Well hey there, Cuddle City- cute name by the way, I dig it.

[He let's the hand fall into his lap as all his attention focuses instead on the video feed.] So my names Elijah Moore, but we're all gonna be familiar enough soon so everyone should just call me Eli. I'm new here, just blew into town recently and I think its high time I start generating some of this positive energy. [He wiggles his fingers in the air the same way one who's talking about mystical energies would totally do.]

I've got a mutually beneficial way of helping things go down- whoever comes down here and buys me a drink gets a free illusion. [His eyes twinkle a little bit in amusement at the suggestion and the pink tint in his cheeks say he's probably already had a couple.] Its been a while since I've been so alone, I guess I'm looking for some company.

[ New New York. It all feels like science-fiction, even more than people fighting demons and monsters. Mindblowing. ]

Well. I can't say I understand, exactly, but it sounds like you're enjoying it. Not for me, I guess - the whole illusion thing, I mean - but I'm sure you've got tons of stories to tell.

[allucina]

[Eli laughs about that.] I mean there are... and those are just the ones I didn't have to sign non-disclosure agreements for.

I'm sure those are the kind that deserve to be told around a drink.

[ Look, Baby is trying to make friends. He's not exactly good at any of this - Griff even thought he was mute, at first, which tells a lot about the amount of effort it's taking Baby to talk even this much, right now. ]

I can join you, if you'd like.

[allucina]

I'd like that! [Eli was almost surprised by how eager he sounds but then again it wasn't like him to be so alone, The Illusionist of High Tower spent a lot of his time being completely absorbed by social events.] And I'm guessing that the Chancellor's non-disclosures don't extend as far as Cadelle.

[killertrack]

[ Baby chuckles at that, before cutting off the feed once he's made sure as to where Eli is. It's a short trip to The Colonel, which Baby drives to - he doesn't plan on getting drunk.

He's there quickly, and finds Eli easily. All in all, maybe fifteen minutes. He pushes his sunglasses off his nose with a smile. ]

I promise I won't tell any Chancellor anything.

[allucina]

[When Baby arrives in person Eli smiles easily, he hadn't realised just how cute the boy would be in person but it was a pleasant discovery.] Good, dad would hate it if the stories started getting out again... he put enough work into his little security network.

[killertrack]

[ Just a very tall, lanky driver, he is. ]

Why are they such a secret? They involve VIPs?

[ Baby's smile is a little crooked, higher on one side than the other. ]

I've got stories too, but I have a feeling yours will be a little more out there. For me, anyway.
