( ... squints. )

isn't the better question "why is your friend lighting their sheets on fire?"

[well, his next guess would be len or sara asking on his behalf. but...yeah. let's not think about that.]

fiiine
any material can work
you just need to get them treated
the blankets in my lab are wool
household blankets are usually kevlar
or i guess you could go the pbi route

i thought you were asking for a friend?

( kara, you do know that's just a figure of speech, right? you're a journalist. this is embarrassing. )

should I be worried that your 'friend' is going to start a building fire

not everyone!

( to be fair, kara's not super great at irony. )

how are your sheets catching on fire?

( Of course she does, she's just an asshole. )

Go through all the trouble of being anon, why even bother 'asking for a friend'?

( technically, she's not a millennial either, considering she's... much older than she looks. but that's a level of complicated that she doesn't much enjoy getting into. )

well, most people's sheets haven't caught on fire yet either, but they're not looking for fireproof bed linens
so you haven't really answered my question

( She takes it as a compliment most of the time, tbh... )

Haven't seen anything that could help you out.
... Tarp fire-resistant?

( oh. oh. well, kara can appreciate how certain abilities might pose a practical issue. she did just finish up a few days of reinforcing the supports on her loft, after all.

she doesn't know who this person is, obviously, given the anonymous nature of the post... but she isn't completely heartless. so, instead, kara sends her phone number as an attachment to the message, and switches her replies to PRIVATE. )

i know a thing or two about controlling your abilities
not that i spontaneously combust or anything
but if you ever want to talk about it, you can give me a call

oh, and i asked my boss - he said welding blankets are supposed to be fireproof, maybe check a home improvement store?
