what's up cuddle people? it's clary here with a seriously important question. like, entire civilizations might depend on it important. you might want to sit down.

... you ready?

okay, here goes:

would you rather only be able to jump everywhere you go or only be able to walk on your hands?

(Who let this nerd have a phone, honestly. But at least playing along gets you ten friendship points. Or it does in her book.)

( texting is too much work. from kimberly's open door into the living room: )

It would help if you put dish soap in instead of shampoo, you know!

How did your shampoo wind up near the dishwasher in the first place? Were you washing your hair in the sink???

( listen, okay, they only have one bathroom, but that doesn't mean clary has to be a heathen about things. )

( in the most deadpan, unimpressed tone of her entire life: ) I'm sure I have no idea what you could have been distracted by.

( as if she's not guilty of being distracted herself... )

I'm sure you don't. ( population of people who believe clary who live in this house: zero. possibly one cat, but kimberly's convinced he's special needs. ) Totally sure.

At least be "distracted" in your own room, damn.

Yeah, I bet. ( unsaid but totally obvious: like jace's dick got caught up in something. ) People eat off that counter, you know.

( don't mind your roommate's aggressive eye-rolling technique. it's a miracle she's somehow able to text and eye roll and wander into said kitchen for a snack without walking into wall. maybe she's born with it? maybe it's maybelline. )

I -- you know what, I was going to say I don't want to know what gets Jace hot and bothered, but I retract that statement. ( because she does know, and she doesn't want to go there. ) Updated rules. The couch and the kitchen: no-go zones.

( it's not even really awkward! it's just... a lot easier not to mention. like, she could talk about the red welts left on her back from his nails, the ones that faded by morning, or how he seemed particularly interested in her hidden strength, but... why? it's unnecessary conversation. it's much more fun to gossip about her current beau than her former ones. )

Technically, the couch was the only thing actually off-limits. ( she's not looking shifty or anything. don't give her that look. at least she wiped the table off that one time. ) I'm just officially adding the kitchen.

And — ( now who's getting a Look!) — if you're not getting laid on a regular basis, that's nobody's fault but your own. Making moon-eyes at Mr Wears-Black-All-The-Time is not going to get you anything.

( speaking of: ) By the way, you got your thing, right? The "come to City Hall and claim your magic stone" thing? It was in the mail, like, a week ago or something.

( for a minute, kimberly has to wonder if maybe clary hasn't earned hers yet. if maybe it's the energizer bunny levels of, uh, intimacy between herself and her particularly hot-headed beau that's earned her the certificate in question, and clary's more reticent coupling means she'll be earning hers for a bit longer. she's not exactly sure what the exchange rate is on sex vs volunteering vs everything else when it comes to energy production. it's not like there's a chart. or like she's been keeping track. anyway. )

You should check. ( not that kimberly wants to go home yet. even if they are offering it to her, she can always ignore it, right? or there had been the whole thing about 'alternative arrangements' — who knew what that meant. ) Let me know if it's there?
